The Harvest

The Harvest is a beautiful and topical eco-documentary built around two sisters and the children they care for. Jessie and Hlengiwe (Twinky) Nkosi took it upon themselves to build a crèche in Plastic City, a giant recycling camp where families try to survive. It does not document misery, but hope.  By recycling rubbish, the collectors contribute to a sustainable society. Thanks to the crèche, the children can hope for a better future. What began on a small scale has changed the community and, in some ways, the country.
