Une des milles collines

 

A gesture against oblivion, a quest for truth, a reconstruction to put an end to silence. From the very first moments of "Une des mille collines", filmmaker Bernard Bellefroid announces his intention: to pay tribute to the memory of Fiacre, Fidéline and Olivier, three children who were respectively 4, 5 and 9 years old when they were killed, victims among many others of the genocide carried out against the Tutsis in 1994. Three children whose voices will not be heard and whose photographs will not be seen: those who killed them, directly or indirectly, also made all material traces of their existence disappear.

 

In this gruelling but powerful documentary, filmmaker Bernard Bellefroid seeks to pay tribute to the children killed during the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda.
