Thank You for the Rain
Spoken: Swahili/English. Subtitles: English.
Five years ago, the Kenyan farmer Kisilu Musya began filming his family, his village, the floods, droughts and thunderstorms in the area where he lives. By filming his daily life, he in fact documents the devastating effects of global warming on his family and fellow farmers. When the house of Kisilu is destroyed by a storm, the self-taught filmmaker decides to launch a solidarity movement of farmers and calls for action. Kisilu transforms from a father to a community leader and activist. He’s invited to speak in Oslo and at the Paris Climate Conference. This inspiring story puts a memorable face to a monumental global issue.
