It was not until February 2022 that “mixed” children born during the colonial era obtained access to Belgian nationality. For more than 60 years, this fact has left an open wound in society, caused by the Belgian government. Mpota tells how it all started, namely with the relationship between colonialists and African women. Many of their children suffered form it when they were torn from mother at the eve of independence. This animation film depicts this drama in an emotional way.
