GIVE ME BACK MY HOME

In ‘Give Me Back my Home’, a documentary short about her family, Kimundu brings us back to her farm in Burnt Forest, which was burnt to the ground by a Kalenjin mob in 1992. No one in her family has ever been back to see what remains of their home—until the young filmmaker makes the move. Visiting friends and neighbors, many of whom Kalenjin, and the graves of her family members, Kimundu’s film is an intimate look into her family’s history. It begs the question: What is all this violence for?
