FUTUR SIMPLE

The future of one of the most beautiful countries in the world lies in their hands but at the moment they are denied it. Leaders decide on war and peace above their heads and at the same time the richness of the soil, a possible resource for the success of new generations, is being stolen. Yet youngsters in the Congo pursue an almost epic fight for a better life. For their new book “Futur Simple” De Morgen journalist Vidal and photographer Stephan Vanfleteren travelled several times to the Congo and returned with seven impressive and touching stories. Together with director Ibbe Daniëls, Vidal and Vanfleteren made a special short in which the young Congolese opera singer Serge Kakudji plays the leading act in a surprising way.
