EN ATTENDANT LES HOMMES

Oualata is a village in the far east of Mauretania, where slowness reigns. Most of the men have fled to look for jobs elsewhere. The village is left to women, children and the elderly. Three women freely talk about their relationship with their husband, about men in general, about joy and disappointment. Their uninhibited way of speaking may come as a surprise, considering the mysogynous reputation of their society. But apparently, it’s not necessarily the men who wear the trousers.
