CARTOUCHES GAULOISES

In the spring of 1962, the Algerian War is coming to an end and independence is near. Ali is a 11-year-old boy who sells newspapers. In his world, terror attacks occur and ‘apartheid’ is present. His father is a freedom fighter, but Ali is told to say he has migrated to France to find work when asked about his father’s whereabouts. On one hand there’s Zina, the whore which Ali loves and on the other hand there’s Nico, his best friend who says he will never leave Algeria.
