A ROYAL HUNGER

This animation film is a challenge to the narratives of the African Museum in Tervuren, Belgium, and the Leopoldian colonial myths that it continues to celebrate. The film explores the brutal underside of colonization. The title refers specifically to the appetite of Leopold II, king of Belgium and self-declared king-sovereign of Congo, but more broadly to cannibal colonial consumption.
